The newspaper highlights modern life by using elegant typographical treatments. In order to capture the rough features of the caverns, the cover spread acts as the exterior of the caverns while the inner spreads are intended to mimic the interior habitat.
Colors & Typography
The colors selected refer to the dark & light features of the caverns using pops of color indicating the modernity around the caves.
Alternate Gothic Compressed was employed to provide a classic, industrial headline, serving as a strong, modern-style sans serif. Brasilica, a humanist serif font, appeals to the unrefined habitat of the caverns.
Inspired by cavern features, elements within the editorial feature elegant manipulation of typography to highlight pull quotes and other article attractions.
